I'm back! Recently I have been tied up creating new pieces of art, which is why I have not posted any updates in a while.

I participated in a contest for creating carnival masks, and even though I didn't stand on the podium, it was an experience that opened new horizons for me. Soon after, I was asked to create scenography for theatrical play. I must say that I have never had my work appreciated so much in such a short period of time!

Eccomi ritornata! Scusami se non ti ho più aggiornato sui miei lavori, ma sono stata impegnata a seguire diversi fili e a creare opere nuove...

Ho partecipato ad un concorso per la creazione di maschere di carnevale e, anche se non sono salita sul podio, è stata un'esperienza che mi ha aperto nuovi orizzonti. Poco dopo sono stata chiamata per realizzare la scenografia di uno spettacolo teatrale, e devo dire che non ho mai ricevuto tante soddisfazioni in così poco tempo!

Today is the first time that I am communicating through this invisible web of strings that is the internet, which for me, is a completely new experience and a confusing one.

Nevertheless, I should be familiar with handling strings. I have 25 years of knowledge by using them for unification, modification, and creation. I will try to give a better explanation of what I intend to say:

My true passion is to give life to materials and objects by assembling them together: always using needle and string. I started 25 years ago from pressure from my father who already established himself in this trade (imagine, I wanted to be an illustrator or a graphic designer). There was great resistance at first, but in little time I was able to fit myself into this new outfit, eventually making it my own; thus, starting to create custom-made dresses and collaborate with high-fashion brands, which was really exciting at times, to propose and produce embroideries by hand. It was this very experience that made me realize that there are no limits to the usage of materials and also that the artistic expression is similar to that of graphic design.

I wanted to connect these two worlds, which are equally intense and important to me, with an absolutely personal interpretation. I began to make panels, dressing screens, and also lamp shades with different types of material (mostly scrapped fabric, stone, paper, wood, metals, etc.), assembling them to blank surface using only needle and STRING.

As you can see, this string is really a guideline and to me, is very familiar but also mysterious and partly unknown.

Inizio oggi per la prima volta a comunicare attraverso questo filo invisibile e per me è del tutto nuovo e anche un pò confuso.
..Eppure dovrei essere abituata a gestire i fili, sono 25 anni che li uso, credo con sapienza, per unire, creare, modificare.
Cerco di spiegarti meglio che cosa intendo dire. La mia grande grande passione è quella di dare vita a materie e oggetti assemblandoli tra loro, sempre attraverso l'uso dell'ago e dei fili. Ho iniziato quasi per forza 25 anni fa, trascinata un pò per il braccio da mio padre che aveva già iniziato da tempo questo lavoro (figurati che io volevo fare tutt'altro: illustratrice o grafico pubblicitario). All'inizio fu un bel conflitto, ma nel giro di poco tempo mi sono accomodata in questo nuovo abito, fino a che non l'ho proprio fatto mio, e così ho iniziato a creare abiti su misura e a collaborare (cosa a volte veramente esaltante) con le case d'alta moda per proporre e produrre dei ricami a mano. E' stata proprio questa collaborazione che mi ha fatto capire che non ci sono limiti nell'uso dei materiali e che tutto questo è molto vicino all'espressione artistica della grafica.
Ho voluto unire questi due mondi per me ugualmente intensi e importanti, in un'interpretazione del tutto personale e ho iniziato a realizzare dei pannelli, paraventi e anche lampade con materiali di vario genere (principalmente tessuti ritagliati, pietre, carta, legni, metalli...), unendoli ad una superficie di base solo con ago e "FILO".
Come vedi questo filo è veramente un filo conduttore ed è per me così familiare ma anche così misterioso e ancora in parte sconosciuto.
